Rep. Juan Vargas' Statement on the IAEA's Report on Possible Military Dimensions of Iran's Nuclear Programs
Washington, DC (December 04, 2015) - Representative Juan Vargas (CA-51) issued the following statement on the recent findings from the International Atomic Energy Agency's report on the possible military dimensions of Iran's nuclear program:
“The International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) recent report on the possible military dimensions of Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program confirms the concerns I’ve had that Iran did not submit an honest report of their past military activities for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Per the results of the report, Iran clearly did not comply with its obligations under the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty. Their lack of commitment is a threat to the United States and our allies. The IAEA must continue to investigate Iran’s nuclear program in order to fully understand the depth of their actions and determine how those findings will affect the sanctions relief.”
